Job summary:

The Director of Customer Marketing will be responsible for developing and managing all customer marketing efforts for critical national and regional channels, including on-site and off-site, and DTC and e-comm delivery channels. In this role, the Director of Customer Marketing will develop customer marketing strategies that effectively educate consumers and their purchasing behavior across our product portfolio. They will have a detailed understanding of buyers’ marketing strategy, experience with major retail partners and their platforms to maximize efficiency and return on investment. The primary goal is to foster collaboration between business divisions, including marketing, sales and media, to identify and develop the tools necessary to drive sales growth while creating brand awareness and engagement between Firestone products and consumers.

Essential duties and responsibilities of the position:

Specifically, the job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following activities:

  • Develop and lead the client’s annual marketing strategy and plans within our national and regional account channels off and on-site
  • Create or customize programs that help our customers drive traffic, loyalty and conversion
  • Leverage the company’s marketing properties in relation to key brand initiatives to generate customer enthusiasm, leading to incremental growth
  • Collaborate with cross-functional channel teams to achieve specific channel goals. Team members include sales, merchandising, marketing strategy, branding, experience and media buying
  • Immersed in consumer, buyer and channel insights, create customer-specific annual marketing plans. Segment strategies and plans into channels designed to achieve key business goals, including stock growth, customer experience, and revenue maximization. Turn insights into added value by creating solutions that turn buyers into buyers
  • Develop and communicate sales and fulfillment channel standards for each customer marketing program. Detail the merchandising cut-off points required to activate the Designated Buyer’s marketing program and include the duration of the program
  • Build strong customer relationships by providing exclusive marketing solutions that help become our customers’ most valued supplier
  • Lead the process of implementing the Customer Marketing Plan with critical national and regional customers on and off site. Ensure customer marketing plans align to meet the needs of key customers with a focus on driving sales and customer interaction with our product portfolio.   • Create and manage a before and after ROI system for all executed buyer marketing programs to drive continuous improvement in future programming
  • Participate in meetings with the sales team and retail customers to communicate marketing strategy, assist with sales marketing programs to customers and report on post-program performance metrics to build retail relationships and unlock additional commercial support
  • Manage the setup and execution of all client marketing programs, coordinating with the internal creative team, sales team and managing third party vendor relationships as Firestone’s primary contact
  • Manage the setup and execution of national on-site and off-site promotions, including SMS exchanges, available to national accounts and the general sales team to secure account support, increase volume and encourage engagement consumers
  • Create sales materials for the national accounts team, including presentation slides for selling the program, post-program performance recaps, new opportunity probes, and more.
  • Create sales materials for the general sales team to educate and communicate chain store marketing programs to accounts and wholesalers
  • Report the ROI of channel programming to the Marketing and Sales leadership team for review of retail optimization metrics
  • Manage e-commerce platforms, including relationships as Firestone’s primary contact, including identifying and qualifying advertising opportunities with the media agency, maintaining Firestone e-comm brand presence and controlling the growth of the business segment
  • Other related tasks assigned

Qualifications required:

  • 5 years of experience in customer marketing, planning creation and execution of consumer business programs
  • Prior experience in partnerships / running grocery and retail chains
  • Experience in budget creation and management
  • Ability to operate and use a computer, proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of programs with advanced skills in PowerPoint and Excel
  • Strong team management, mentoring, project management, organization, team building and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage the diverse needs of the retail environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities while multitasking in a fast paced environment
  • Positive, sociable and personable attitude to manage daily interactions with internal and external customers
  • An ambitious, energetic and proven base to win
