THE VISION: To build strong, long-term relationships with our Channel Partners/National Accounts, Channel Partners, Retail Buyers and Consumers. Assist in leading and mentoring the sales team. Maintain the highest level of customer service and quality standards for all Yonder products on the market.

ABOUT US: We are a rapidly growing cider house based in Wenatchee, Washington (production) and Seattle, Washington (upholstery). Established in 2020, we are distributed throughout Washington State, with a common dining facility in the heart of Seattle’s Ballard Brewing District. Harvested and pressed in Wenatchee, WA, the heart of Apple Country, we create a cider as balanced, bright and complex as the earth itself. Made from a blend of bittersweet cider apples and juicy dessert apples, our ciders are not plain and never simple, but you can always count on their interest.

SUMMARY of the position

You will need to nurture positive, long-term relationships with a set of key retail accounts as well as source and develop new accounts. A Yonder Cider Sales Manager will strive to achieve annual sales goals and lead our team of sales representatives. We expect the Sales Manager to be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with channel/national account buyers, building strong relationships with our business partners, using software CRM and other technologies, tracking sales expenses, encouraging repeat business, generating new business, providing brand support through market activities and educational events , attend company meetings when requested, and conduct your work week as efficiently as possible. You will also need to communicate and work cohesively with production to communicate product goals, projections and needs. The Sales Manager will also be responsible for being the primary point of contact for all of our channel partner teams.

PREFERRED ABILITIES

  • The self-starter will be based and working in Washington State; preferably Seattle or Wenatchee

  • Ability to represent Yonder Cider responsibly and professionally at all times

  • Knowledge and appreciation of the craft beer and cider industry and the hospitality industry; knowledge of the three-tier system is a plus

  • Strong organizational, communication and problem solving skills

  • Strong work ethic when working independently and as part of a team to achieve company-wide goals

  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to work with a variety of personalities, seeking common ground and understanding

  • Experience managing a team of diverse personalities and abilities

  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Google Suite and Microsoft Office, ease with various software and databases; experience with EKOS and a CRM system is a big plus

  • The ability to adapt to a rapidly changing work environment

  • May be available to work as needed based on account contact schedules

  • Able to work a flexible schedule outside normal business hours, including some evenings and weekends

  • Time management and prioritization skills

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills

  • Adhere to federal and state liquor laws regarding the sale, merchandise, and promotion of cider house products

  • Participate in overall sales strategy and goal planning for the sale of Yonder Cider products

  • Work in conjunction with the Sales Analyst to provide monthly and yearly projections

  • Participates in weekly and monthly meetings relevant to the position (in person and/or virtual)

  • Can work independently, but values ​​the strengths of others and thrives as part of a team

  • Inform management of necessary training, equipment needs or product issues within the scope of the position

  • Maintain self-study on sales skills/strategies

  • Prepare and deliver requested/required sales documentation on time

  • Maintain and seek new opportunities to increase sales and presence in distribution accounts in assigned territory

  • Notifies management of any performance below brand standards

  • Lead and develop, as needed, the Yonder Cider sales team

  • Maintain positive sales volume within a set of large retail accounts

  • Manage relationships with chain/national account beer buyers, organize meetings, create presentations and come up with ideas for creative promotional programs for national retail accounts

  • Set up, execute and participate in in-store promotions, beer dinners and special events with key retailers that can take place any day of the week and are aimed at building sales and distribution

  • Work with production to communicate and relay goals, projections and product needs, including product needs and projections for the tasting room

  • Maintain notes of account information, buying habits, goals and contacts in a CRM program (training provided)

  • Ability to use a smartphone to access and effectively use Company’s Choice of Inside Sales Software to run reports, place orders and communicate account needs, as well as use Company’s Choice of Inside Sales Software group communication (training provided)

  • Become knowledgeable and proficient in EKOS (training provided)

  • Adhere to company-wide security practices and standards (training provided)

  • Complete any other reasonable request from a supervisor within a reasonable time

GOOD TO HAVE, BUT NOT MANDATORY

  • Licence

  • At least 3 years of experience in a sales or hospitality environment

  • Bonus points for having experience selling alcoholic beverages or dispensing

  • Knowledge of the beer, cider or craft beverage industry; hotel and/or food industry; production of alcoholic beverages of any kind

  • Experience working with distribution or wholesale companies and/or retail chains

PHYSICAL ASPECTS YOU MAY ENCOUNTER

  • Frequent travel by plane and car – around 50%

  • Occasional lifting of items ranging from 25 to 50 lbs.

  • Tasting of alcoholic beverages for quality control

  • Regular visits to bars, restaurants, liquor stores and other hospitality establishments

  • Installation of marketing materials which may require the use of stools or ladders, lifting, bending and stretching

  • Be present in person at the same location for several hours in accordance with the marquee event guidelines

  • Long sitting sessions in front of a computer screen
